COLOGNE, Germany, March 26, 2025
COLOGNE, Germany, March 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- SprintRay, a global leader in digital dentistry solutions, will debut new expansions to its digital dentistry portfolio at the International Dental Show (IDS) 2025. Highlights include the European launch of the Midas Digital Press 3D printer and the expansion of the Digital Print product line with next-generation sports guard and accessory kits, enabling faster printing speeds and multi-material workflows. These advancements underscore SprintRay's commitment to enhancing patient care and practice efficiency through digital-first solutions.
Midas Digital Press Expands to Europe
As a pioneer in immediate dental restorations, SprintRay is introducing the revolutionary Midas Digital Press 3D printer to the European market. Powered by Digital Press Stereolithography (DPS), Midas is the first 3D printer capable of processing ultra-viscous materials, unlocking unprecedented strength, esthetics, and efficiency in dental restorations. With SprintRay Ceramic Crown and OnX Tough 2 resin capsules, Midas can print up to three crowns, six inlays/onlays, or nine veneers in a single 10-minute cycle. Combined with SprintRay AI Studio design software, this technology enables faster, more precise, and fully integrated restorative workflows.
"We are excited to introduce the Midas Digital Press restorative workflow with SprintRay ceramic-filled resins to the European market, transforming the way dental professionals deliver single-unit definitive restorations," said Amir Mansouri, Ph.D., CEO and co-founder of SprintRay. "In the United States alone, more than 70,000 restorations have been successfully 3D printed with Ceramic Crown resin in the past 24 months, with clinicians reporting superior fit and restoration quality compared to traditional milling. We look forward to extending these benefits to more dentists and patients worldwide."
Expanding the Digital Print Portfolio in Europe
SprintRay's Digital Print product line delivers high-accuracy, high-throughput 3D printing solutions tailored for dental clinics and labs. The SprintRay Pro 2, introduced in 2024, has redefined efficiency in dental printing, and at IDS 2025, SprintRay will unveil the Pro 2 Duo Kit, a patent-pending dual-resin printing system. This breakthrough allows dental professionals to print two different resins simultaneously, accelerating production for full dentures, splints, and other high-demand applications.
Further expanding the portfolio, SprintRay will introduce:
- SportsGuard Resin – Available in Crimson Red and Cobalt Blue, offering high-performance, custom mouth guards for athletes.
- Direct Print Retainer Resin – Launching in Q3 2025, this new resin enables 3D printing of clear retainers with micron-level accuracy, eliminating the need for traditional thermoforming.
Ceramic Crown and OnX Tough 2: Coming Soon to Europe
SprintRay's industry-leading Ceramic Crown and OnX Tough 2 resins will soon be available in Europe, pending Class IIa certification under the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR). Developed at the SprintRay BioMaterial Innovation Lab, these advanced hybrid ceramic restorative resins offer exceptional strength, durability, and esthetics, providing clinicians with the capability of fabricating high-quality, immediate dental restorations. Both resins will be available for use with Midas and Pro 2 3D printers.
New Strategic Partnership with Straumann
SprintRay continues to grow through key partnerships with industry leaders like Nobel Biocare, Ivoclar, Medit, 3Shape, Dexis, Solventum and Align–offering access to its cutting-edge 3D printing technology through directly integrated APIs, aligned protocols, and to co-developed workflows. At IDS 2025, SprintRay takes another step forward in a new strategic alliance with the Straumann Group. This strategic alliance unites Straumann's world-class expertise in digital workflows with SprintRay's industry-leading 3D printing capabilities to accelerate the growth of same-day dentistry. At the core of this partnership is the launch of a Straumann Signature Midas by SprintRay, a co-branded version of SprintRay's Midas Digital Press 3D printer to be integrated with the Straumann AXS platform and Straumann SIRIOS intraoral scanner, as well as collaboration to develop innovative implant workflows on AXS.
"SprintRay continues to push the boundaries of digital dentistry across the globe, and IDS 2025 is the perfect platform to showcase our latest advancements and strategic partnerships," said Amir Mansouri, Ph.D., CEO and co-founder of SprintRay. "With Midas Digital Press and our expanding material portfolio, we are empowering dental professionals with the tools they need to deliver faster, more precise, and highly aesthetic restorations. Our new collaboration with the Straumann Group marks a significant milestone in dental 3D printing, which will immediately expand access to these end-to-end clinical workflows for more users and meet the growing demand of single-visit treatments."
